Canon RebelXTEOS & Sigma 170-500 lens will it need adaptor?

I have a Canon Rebel XT digital camera. I have a Sigma 170 to 500 mm lens that work on a 35 mm film camera. I have been told that I would need an adaptor for the lens to work on the Canon Rebel XT EOS. If this is true where do I find one and what exactly do I need to look for. I use the camera in my job and I am not real knowlegable about cameras. I just focus and shoot. I use images for website and printing and calendars. So the pictures need to be sharp. Any information will be greatly appreciated and helpful!

It depends for which mount the Sigma is made for. If it is made for the Canon 35mm there is a chance that it will work on your Canon SLR (a pretty good chance), but if it is made for any other camera body you will definitely need an adapter. Be weary though, an adapter can mess up metering, which leads to lighting and focusing issues. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Well first you need to find out who its made for, then you can search it on google, some internet stores carry it. Also you can try a specialty camera store like Ritz Camera, or Mike's Camera, or B&H. If all else, I have seen every camera adapter in existence on ebay at some point or the other, but like everything else, you run a risk buying it on ebay.
