Looking for SLR with min of 7 megapixels and 10x optial zoom for less than 350

I am looking for an SLR digital camera with a minimum of 7 megapixels and a 10x optial zoom at a cost of less than 350. What cameras should I be looking at?

SLRs don't use the "x optical zoom" rating. They use the lenses which rate in millimeters (like 18-200mm zoom). So, I want to be sure we're talking about the same cameras here. Are you interested in an SLR or a point and shoot superzoom that handles much of the SLR workload?

For that price, you'll be looking at something like the Olympus E410 or the Canon XT, but those prices are body only and would require you to invest more in the lens of choice.

James, thank you for your response. I am looking at an SLR. I want a camera that does not have a delay. I want a camera that will take pictures in succession with as little time between pictures as possible.

I figured. If you can swing a few extra hundred, I'd be looking at the XTi. It's a stellar entry level SLR. And you can get a great package deal with a good intro zoom. But if you can't wait to save the extra scratch, the XT still works.

I agree with James on this. You can also looked for refurbished models on eBay if you want to save money. They don't always come with a warranty, but you can find a good price.
