Not Bad, but I Want to Upgrade
( - 10/17/05)I've had this camera about 2 years. I bought it for taking pictures of my kids and scrapbooking. It takes nice quality outdoor photos, but I have been disappointed in the indoor photos. I have tried to take pictures of concerts, dance recitals, etc. and it was not worth the effort. The indoor photos of these types of events were such poor quality I rarely even printed or processed them. For family photos, Christmas morning, etc., I have had much better luck turning off the flash on indoor photos. The quality has been decent doing this.
I have some nice photo editing software that I use a lot. I've tried to zoom in or crop photos. These typically turn out poor. However, with all due respect, that's not so much a function of this particular camera as much as a function of the 2 MPixel size (bigger is better, at least to a point).
The zoom is weak (3X), which has been a drawback for me. I would like to be able to tell which one is my child! If cost is an issue (it was with me), you have to at least have either higher MPixels or better zoom, I won't sacrifice both again.
The video is decent quality, but no sound. Not an issue for capturing soccer games, but kind of a disappointment for a play your child is in!
Overall, it's not a bad camera. I would consider a Fuji again, based on my experience with this one. But, for my next camera I am anxiously awaiting a Canon PowerShot S1 IS!!
