is the a610 fuji sdhc compatible?

i have a new fuji A610 camera and it says card error when i turn it on with a 4gb sdhc card. wondering if this is an uncompatible card/camera combo or if i am missing something in the settings.

The A610 is much too old to be SDHC compatible.
