How good a quality are the auto settings on the F20 and F650?

I like the look of the F20 for picture quality but the camera is for my mother who will probably leave it on auto a lot of the time. Is the quality going to be good enough on auto to warrent me getting the F20 over the F650, with its large screen and better zoom (5x optical)??? Please advise!

Hi Ali,

User reviews at Amazon and Pricegrabber generally seem to indicate that the F20 produces great photos on auto. It also has several features that enhance this basic functionality: a "natural light" mode that prevents foreground overexposure when the flash is in use, and a series of Auto XXXX settings (Auto 1600, Auto 400) that work like normal Auto modes but limit the upper ISO setting the camera can pick, in order to control noise. Since your mother sounds like an amateur/novice photographer, it seems like the F20 will be just fine for her needs. Hope this helps!
