There is no optical stabilization function on the camera. There is however an advanced anti-blur function. Without too much loss of image quality, it boasts light sensitivity to a level not possible with other cameras. Doing this, the camera needs a much shorter shutter time, which prevents pictures from being blurry.

Valerie, the feature that the F20 has is not the same as some of the other camera's. It will help greatly for fast moving objects, but it doesn't help as much with camera shake. Basically there are different types of Image Stabilization, and the F20 doesn't have what may be the best for you. Hope this helped
