Yes. I have used the XD card to transfer photos downloaded to my laptop on vacation to my desktop at home. It's just like any other disk. I've even saved word files to transfer when I didn't have a USB memory stick available. I use a SanDisk card reader when transferring back to the XD. Just plug it in to the USB port and pull it up on My Computer and copy your files to the disk.
