I'm having trouble importing my photos onto my laptop...I'm following all the directions given to me by the program that came with it & in the manual

the program that came with the program either freezes, or works so slowly that it seems to freeze...windows won't allow me to upload the pics straight into my computer's photo-viewing software...any advice? am i just doing something wrong, or do i need a card reader or something like that?...please help!

The software that comes packaged is clumsy and slow as you already know. have great success uploading my photos through Google's Picasa. The upload time is a slower than wanted but not ridiculous. Picasa will save all photos in you my pictures file.
