What would be the current day equivilent to this camera? Mine was stolen and insurance will replace with "like" product.

Frankly, the thief did you a favor as this camera is pretty long in the tooth these days. If insurance is going to buy you a new one, then I'd go with the Fuji FinePix S1500. Highest rated Fuji int he superzoom class at the moment.
