Better than the current

I had an s5000 for more than a year, and used it to take over 16000 photos (yes, 3 zeros). It was an excellent unit that was stolen from my desk at work (possibly by a jealous colleague but more likely by a cleaner one evening). Pictures ranged from slow sunset to fast action, and from infinite distance to the closest macro it would do, in Australia and New Zealand.
I replaced it with the s5600 but am less than impressed with that camera's capabilities compared to the older model. I don't know what Fuji did to the CCD but the first generation super CCD was a much better. The pictures with the s5000 were clearer, sharper and of much more reliable f-stop values than those with the s5600. Given the CCD is the main thing they changed, I am disappointed with the later product.

Give me back an s5000. Like a number of other products, much better than both its predecessors and those that follow.
