My monitor comes on white.

The batteries in my s5000 died with the lens exteded. I put in new batteries and now my monitor comeson white when i take a picture it is white. It has worked amazingly until now. Does anyone have a clue?

Try resetting the camera. It may be that the firmware corrupted and just needs to be reloaded. Brenda P has some good advice here regarding the problems with the S5000. There may be a faulty CCD issue that Fuji isn't owning up to. Contact them and see if there's a new service advisory on the issue. At the very worst, you'll have advised them of yet another dissatisfied S5000 user.
