Darn near excellent
( - 1/9/06)I have taken a good number of pictures with this camera since I got it. I do a lot of hiking, ice climbing, etc. and have brought it with me on a number of trips. In general I think it takes fantastic pictures on its own, and have had great luck using its manual functions as well.
The one thing that I do sometimes have trouble with is shooting in low-light conditions. It is difficult to not get a blurred shot in cases where I have success using some other cameras (e.g. a friend's coolpix 8400) do not blur under the same conditions. Not an issue if you have a tripod, but on hiking trips I try to avoid the extra wieght of a tripod.
Outside of that, I think this is a great camera.
