S700 or S7000?

I just purchased a Fuji FinePix S700 Digital camera last week. I bought it mainly became of it's zoom, 10X optical zoom. This is my first digital camera, I know, I'm probably the last person on earth that hasn't bought one until now. Was this a smart purchase? Most popular cameras seem to be the Canon's and Nikon's.

I have a friend who has the S700 and he LOVES it. And from what I can see by the 172 user reviews here, it's a common sentiment. I did read a few issues with low light focusing. But on the whole, it gets high marks. You should be pleased.
