Where is the external flash plug in?

I would like to use my Vivitar 283 flash with my Fuji S7000. Once I mount it on the hot shoe, I cannot find where to connect with the cord to the camera. Does anyone know where that is on the camera?

S7000 does not have a a connector for your Vivitar 283 cable, and it's a good thing it doesn't because old flash tends to use very high voltage not suitable for present day digital cameras.

However, a slave unit may be connected to the cord and you can use Vivitar283 as a slave flash.

Thanks for the reply but I needed it last night. I found the answer by rereading the manual and fooling again with my camera. It turns out that I first have to say ON to external flash, which is found too deep in the manual, i.e., such an important feature (to me at least) should not be so far into the manual. I found out about external flash and white balance, two things I needed for my shoot last evening. Once you press ON, no cord is needed! And yes, I found the Vivitar 283 very potent but that output is exactly what I needed. I can use my spare 283 as a slave, yes again. Thanks.
