I own the fuji finepix s700. my pictures will not upload on to my computer. any thoughts?

I tried another USB and got the same results. I called Ritz camera, the girl told me the memory chip could have gotten formatted for my camera???? I took the chip to Walgreens pictures maker and it would not read my chip? sooooo... I bought a small memory card, took 4 pictures tried to upload....same deal, except it prompted "error unable to read card" any thoughts.

Yeah, if you tried a secondary card, I'm thinking you have a hardware issue here. Try resetting the camera first to see if that helps. You may also want to see if there's a firmware update available on Fuji's website.

If not, a repair is certainly in your future.

BTW have you tried a USB card reader?

I am having the same problem. USB cable is new. I don't have the original Fuji Finepix viewer cd -- and all I can find on the Fuji website is the 'updater' which doesn't work without the original program. And the Firmware upgrade doesn't work without the Vista updater. And round and round I go. I'm so frustrated I'm tempted to trash the camera. Any hints? Device isn't even recognized by Vista.

Thus the reason why having a USB memory card reader is preferable than dealing with bloated software and faulty drivers (especially in Vista). As for not being able to read your other card, did you format it first? If not, then you can't really write to it. Try formatting the card and then taking pictures. Plug it into the USB card reader and it'll be a simple drag and drop of pictures onto the PC. If that doesn't do the trick, then you're going to need to send it in for repair.

As you can see, the Fuji website does not help owners of this camera convert to vista *because they do not include a download of the original cd that comes with this camera.* they *only* include the *updater.* A big mistake in my opinion as many people buy there cameras used or get them given to them. If you have Vista, run, don't walk, away from this camera, because FIJI IS NOT SUPPORTING VISTA.

Hi James, missed your answer. My husband and I have decided to buy a card reader to no longer be at the mercy of the camera manufacturers. This is not the only camera company out there falling down when it comes to Vista.

You are must wise, Deanna. Don't ever let the ability to connect a camera to a computer be a determining factor in choosing a camera. Bottom line, that is for nothing more than convenience. A USB card reader does the trick for any camera and any OS and works every single time.

Enjoy your new camera.

My fujifilm S700 writes directly to internal memory eventhough there is a memory card inserted. We tried the card through a card reader and it works fine? Do you have any idea about this? Thank you.
