improvement over the FinePix S1000FD?

This camera sells for less than the S1000FD, yet the zoom option is 18X compared to 12X for the former. Otherwise they seem the same.. what is the difference?

Bigger Optical Zoom, Image Stabilization (Optical and Digital), Higher ISO settings (6400), other wise the specs seems the same. Go for this one if it is at a better price. I have the S1000fd, and I love it. Make sure this camera has a metal casing (versus plastic). The S1000fd is metal

Thanks for the answer, actually, I have discovered, that when clicking on the "merchant offers" that offer the near $150.00 dollar price, the link is to an entirely different camera, the finepix J50. This model, the S8100fd, is actually closer to $400.00. I was assuming that these prices listed to the right of the camera were for this item, Wrong!. .

A store in my area has the S8100fd for $399.99 and the S1000fd for about $250.00 (it's currently on sale for $199.99).
Hope this helps.
