Karen,

I have used a 3.2 MegaPixel camera to produce 16"x20" photos as well as 20"x30" photos without loss to resolution. With a 9.2 MegaPixel setting on the Fujifilm S9000 Zoom you should have no problem. Make sure you set it for the largest format with the finest resolution to avoid any complications though.

Thank you Andrew. I am not so new at this but I am in need of a new camera. I do take pictures of my uncle's artwork with a sony d707 but I had to have sony replace the flash after only having it two years (211.00) for the repair. What kind of camera do you use? I am in need of a camera that I can print pictures larger than 16 x 20. Karen (843) 838-1426

Karen,

My main camera right now is a Canon Digital Rebel XT. It is more than able to take wonderful blown up pictures. Anything over 6 MP should do the same.

As an owner of the s9000 i can say definitively yes, you should have no issues. s9000 shoots natively at about 8x10 @300dpi, which would produce a 'perfect' print. you can get away with going bigger without too much loss at all, ive made a decent print at A1 size (23,4 x 33,1 in). However, you'll have much better imaging if you shoot in RAW and process it up to a native 16x20 @ 300dpi. it truly makes a significant difference.
