It's pretty hard to tell without looking at the camera. This particular camera has tons of problems... so instead of trying to diagnose the problem and get it fixed, it would be much wiser to invest in another camera in my opinion. If you see any sort of lights or hear noises when you hit the power button, then its technical, if you don't hear or see anything, its honestly a coin toss from our perspective. If you choose to try to figure out the problem, take it into a camera repair shop, they can diagnose and give you a quote. Sorry not to be of more help, the internet barrier just makes it harder.

I have this same problem, suddenly the camera won't hold a charge - the green light comes on with the charger and says battery is full, then when you unplug it it just shuts off. I use this camera for real estate taking photos of houses so I'm not sure if I should invest in a new battery because I like the camera or get a new one too.
