Olympus c-4000 reports card error

When I turn camera on it give this error "card error". I tried the card(smart media)in my computer card reader, and all the pictures showed up fine. What should I do now? Thanks,

While the carc is out, reset it. Get your images off the card using a card reader. Reformat the card in your camera. You should be fine now. Thing is, sometimes a card can have a bad sector which causes it to have a card error. Reformatting it should solve the issue. But if it happens again, I'd toss the card altogether.
