It's always fun to keep an eye on Canon's stylish 'SD' series of ultracompacts. They're consistently crowd-pleasing cameras, and the SD1100 IS looks like another great addition to this illustrious line. It's small and sleek, with plenty of cool features like the face-detection auto focus (which will find your subject's face with startling accuracy) and sensor-shift image stabilization to prevent jitters and shaking from spoiling your photos.

Fuji took a big bite out of Canon's lead in the Point-and-Shoot category with last year's S700, and they're aiming to do the same here with the Fuji Z20fd. It's a fine-looking pocket camera with a big 10-megapixel sensor and face-detection auto focus. It's not perfect though: the IRSimple infrared wireless transmission seems like an odd addition (why not Wi-Fi? What can you use IRSimple with? Not much), and the lack of image stabilization seems old-fashioned.

10.1 megapixels, 5x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD
Another bold concept by Sony, the Cybershot T300 pulls out all the stops: image stabilization, a luxurious 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD, and an above-average 5x optical zoom. Sony likes to put out these fully-loaded cameras, and while they're fun to look at, only time will tell if consumers cozy up to the flashy features and extra-special functions.
