Does eat batteries, but not that terrible

I think most reviews that I have read on this camera are very harsh, yes it does drain batteries, but there are ways around this. Buy a set of 4 rechargeable batteries, put 2 in the camera, carry 2 with you, and you should be fine. Do not leave the LCD screen on or yes the battery life will be terrible. I usually use the lowest quality setting and I am pleased with it, typically getting about 70 pictures before having to recharge. The picture quality is terrific in my opinion, in daylight works great from all distances, but if you are taking night shots, you must be close enough to your subject for the flash to help (as with all cameras). I am not completely pleased, due to the fact other cameras tend to get better battery life, and I wouldn't reccomend buying this camera unless it is cheap, but it is certainly effective for what I use it for.
