I have the same problem as michelle. Looks like you are going to have to call HP support and send the camera in for fixing.

This seems to be a common problem. But my error message is E104. What does this mean?? Can anyone help?

Error message E104 means the camera lens is stuck.
There are people who fixed the problem by opening and cleaning the gear system.

However, I would prefer to get proficient technician to service the camera if the cost is not too high, otherwise it might be a better option to buy a new camera because prices of camera has dropped a lot recently.

Also, try out this site, but read everything before you try any of the solutions. I'd start at 4 and move down from there.
