The 5-megapixel HP Photosmart 945 features an 8x optical zoom, marking HP's first entry into the popular extended zoom category. Despite its impressive credentials, the HP 945 lacks many of the manual controls that experienced photographers need (such as TIFF or RAW file formats and a flash hot shoe). Despite this, casual photographers looking for high resolution and long zoom should give the HP 945 a look.
