can't make photo CD's with new Vista

I tried to burn a photo CD after we got a new Vista computer and the "memories disc creator" wouldn't work. I could get the photos in music etc, but when I hit create disc, it said that "could not find a cd writer on your system"

There are several bugs that are being worked out on Vista still. I've come across myself, including my Canon printer not being compatible with Vista before getting more updates.

Which CD burner program are you using? I would advise contacting that company first. Last resort would be contacting the Vista customer service center and have them troubleshoot for you.

I haven't had a problem burning CDs, myself, but I'm just using the basics of what was included on my computer, so I can't help you beyond that, personally.

The problem probably lies in the whether the installed CD Writer is certified Vista compatible and that the cables are connected properly.

Let him demonstrate to you that the CD Writer works because if there is anything else that need to be looked into, the supplier will have technicians who know.

If you want to troubleshoot yourself DIY style, it will take quite some time to do so. Your computer should be covered by a one year warranty and sending it back to the Vendor is the best solution.

This isn't a warranty issue. Vista is software, and the computer is fine. Simply call the developer of the CD software and they can work with Microsoft (if they haven't, already) to make a simple update you download that fixes the glitch. Sending a computer back is the last resort!
