Good pictures but make sure you have lots of spare charged batteries
( - 3/24/06)My son bought me a Kodak C340 camera for Christmas. I only took 5 pictures and a few seconds of video then it stopped working, just on the day when you want to use it the most. I thought it was the internal memory so I bought a memory card and took the camera to my niece's Christening. The camera would not work at all, I switched it on and just got a red light, the lens did not come out. Got no pictures of my niece being Christened. Then we had a family birthday coming up so I took the camera to the Kodak shop and said that it was not working properly. I did not have a receipt so they said it would cost around 90 to repair. The assistant tried various batteries that he had in his drawer but none of them worked even though he tried them in the battery tester and they all showed a good charge. I bought myself a battery charger and fully charged some batteries, it was hit and miss which batteries worked but managed to find some that worked. You have to be prepared to remove the batteries after use and put fresh ones in especially if you've used the video or done a lot of reviewing. (Glad I didn't pay the 90 repair cost). I got my family pictures at last and they were good quality but I am very disappointed that you need to try lots of different batteries until you find the ones that will work the thing. The best thing to do if you are out and about with your camera is to take plenty of fully charged batteries (ones that you have actually tried in the camera first because fully charged does not mean they will work in this camera! even if they are the same make and all came in the same pack). Good camera, easy to use, shame about the battery life. You would think that Kodak would have tested these things first! Or even provide free batteries for dissatisfied customers.
