Turning off by itself

I bought this camera not too long ago. It takes quite good pictures, but recently I used the "record a video" feature and everytime I try to turn the camera on now the red light starts flashing and automatically turns off.
Does anyone know what causes this? Or how to get rid of it?
Overall, its not that bad.
