my camera will turn on, but the screen is black. i can take pictures, but the pictures are all black. i can reveiw the pictures and that shows up fine

i need help! is it my fault? did i drop it one too many times?

No, it's just that you don't know the camera yet. Just press the screen button, and I'm sure it's that you turned it off.
If not, go somewhere to see what it is, because it's not common.

Could also possibly be an image sensor issue. Let us know if you are still having problems.

My camera is having the same issue. I think it is just crapped out but I will see how much they will charge to fix it.

my camera is doing the same thing. me and my friend were sitting outside and we dropped it on pavement, could that possibly be that problem? but we can review pictures fine, and load them in the computer and take pictures, they're just black. same with the videos.

i'm glad to know someone besides me is having the same problem. lucky me mine is still on warranty! i guess i'll just have to get it replaced :( good luck with yours!

mine is doing the same thing, but i've looked it up and they say that its the internal/card memory.

I had the same symptoms. I discovered that the automatic lens cover was stuck shut. It took only a few light taps of my finger to get those little doors unstuck.

The next time that you see no lit up display, take a look at the front of the camera and see if the lens cover is open.
