When i turn my camera on the green light flashes twice then the red light flashes, but then the screen doesn't show anything? how do i get it back to taking pictures? please email me back at darrenofinnocent@hotmail.com

After i took a few pictures, i tried to look at what i took and then the camera kind of turned itself off! i tried to turn it back on but it's not showing me anything on the screen.
(Before it did this, i did change it to take pics in the black and white setting.)
When i turn it on the green light flashes twice and then the red light flashes about six - seven times, but then nothing happens after that. Have i accidentally switched it on to something i'm unaware of? What can i do to solve this?
Please email me back at darrenofinnocent@hotmail.com
Thanks for your help!
Yours
Darren

Other people have had this problem as well. Kodak's website lists some instructions on what to try. If those don't work, you may want to contact them about replacing it under warranty. Remember that if you purchased it using a credit card, usually the manufacturer's warranty is doubled! Contact your credit card issuer for more information.

I am having the exact same problem with my C340. The battery life was always horrendous, but now it won't even turn on! I received it as a gift in July, so I don't have a receipt for the warranty, but at least I didn't have to pay for the darn thing!

Kodak want's $89 to fix it. They also offer a trade in for a reconditioned camera, but we'll probably just end up buying a better camera. Too bad; it was super easy to use.

There must be something wrong with the C340 camera, because I have had two of them. I took the first one back after it wouldn't turn on anymore after the first month that I had it. Then I got another one and the same thing happened. The green light flashes and then the red light. I have even put new Kodak batteries in it. I am pissed that money was wasted on this camera. Kodak should recall all of the cameras and replace them all with an updated version that works. Also, how are you supposed to give a receipt if you got the camera as a gift and the person who gave it to you did not keep the receipt. I am very pissed and I will not recommend this camera to anyone.

I was having the same problem. I was using name brand alkaline batteries. I figured that I would try a lithium battery before throwing the camera away. I have not had any problem with the camera since. I am now looking into buying rechargeable lithium batteries.

I took Mike's advice and tried rechargable batteries about 4 months ago. I haven't had a problem with power since. Don't know why, but it worked!

I have tried rechargeable batteries. I bought 3 new sets of rechargeable batteries and nothing. Talk about a waste of monye. I now have a sony and love it. However talk about a waste of money since the camera sits in the box it came in.

I have had this camera for 1 year + and am very disappointed in the battery life. I have tried every battery out there. The green light comes on, flashes, and then turns red. I have had Kodak cameras in the past and this was the only brand I would buy. I recently bought a camcorder and it is Sony and this will be the brand I stick with for cameras as well.

Mine won't turn on. Period. No lights, no sounds. It's a large hunk of useless plastic at this point.
Battery life was horrendous, so it sat in my closet for a year. Finally, I went out and bought a set of rechargeable batteries. Even those don't work at this point. I've tried five or six diferent sets of batteries, with absolutely zero results.
I hate you, Kodak.

Same problem for me. My C340 has always been a battery hog and now it has gotten ridiculous - to the point I'm ready to smash it with a hammer.
The camera powers off due to Low Battery condition. I can take the same batteries and put them in my wife's camera, which is also a Kodak (Z740) and can take picture after picture.
I have tried all kinds of batteries, including 2500 and 3000 mah NiMh, and nothing seems to help.

The camera is a piece of junk to me now. I'll replace it but will never buy another Kodak camera.

Horrible camera, broken out of the box. Avoid like the plague.

I got my c340 two years ago as a gift, and within a day of use, the battery problems started. Green light twice, then red, and off.

I found out after searching online that it was a common problem, and some people managed to get lucky and find batteries that did work: I bought a set of rechargeable Energizer batteries, which are the only batteries I've found so far that actually work with the camera. However, because of the faulty battery compartment, it would drain the rechargeables within 30 minutes of use (moderate picture taking)... But still, it was a working camera. For a while...

Until now. For some reason, the batteries (even a new pair) do not work, and the camera flicks the green light on once, but doesn't start. Now it's only value to me is as a paperweight. Even that it fails at, due to it's flimsy lightweight design.

I have not used my C-5050 for a couple of months and I just replaced the batteries. When I turn it on the zoom lens stays out and the camera beeps 10 times and a green light comes on. When I turn it off the same happens????????

However, I can view the pictures I have previously taken.

Please advise.

Thanks

This whole 'green light, then red, then off' Thing doesn't happen to me, usually. What my problem is, is that I can put fresh batteries in, it'll work for a good...10-20 minutes, then be out. It pisses me off! I just bought rechargeables, but I'm looking for a new camera. I got this as a gift, and it sucks.
