Firmware update for my C340 fails to install.

I closely followed the instructions to update my C340 firmware to version 1.03. Everything went OK until the final step. The Final step states:-

1. Update successfully transferred to camera.
2. Turn off camera.
3. Disconnect USB cable.
4. Turn on camera.
5. Follow instructions on screen to complete upgrade.

I have followed the update procedure several times but I have never seen any instructions on screen even though I have left camera switched on for many minutes. ( The instructions state that stage 5 above takes approximately two minutes).

Thanks for any advice. Kodak state they do not provide any technical support for this product.

Wonderful that Kodak stands by behind their product, isn't it? (NOT). It may be that you don't have anything to do. If no instructions pop up, it may be finished. Check to see what firmware is loading into your camera. If they are the same, they're good to go. If not, then only Kodak can fix it and if they are unwilling, maybe it's time to consider a new brand.

James,
Thanks for your response.

The firmware installed is v. 1.02 The version I am trying to install is v. 1.03. Although no istructions were coming up I thought that perhaps, as you suggest, the update had in fact been accomplished. However the camera is still reporting that its firmware is v. 1.02.

As the camera appears to be working OK, apart from the Date/Time function which was apparently to be improved by the update, I have decided to waste no more time on this matter.

One thing is certain, I shall not be buying any Kodak equipment in future.

Thanks again for your interest.
