According to Kodak , this error may be caused by your batteries as they may be dying or simply underpowered. High Powered NiMh are recommended by Kodak. Absent that, they suggest getting an estimate for repair.

Would you know what a 411,1,1,118 error code would mean? I get it when I try to use the zoom lens.

My camera was doing this, I can use my camera but if I zoom then it switches off. I contacted kodak and they told me they could fix it for a price, between 65 to 85 quid, I can get a new camera for 65 so why bother, I'll just use my camera till it dies. i have been told that if you tap it sharply on the bottom this can rectify it, it didn't work on mine though. apparently theres a little cog that dislodges, another thing you can try is to hold the lens open as you shut it down, this is supposed to force the cog back, that didn't work on mine either. But all things tolled, at least mine takes photos, even if it can't zoom, best of luck with the tapping and pulling thing.

vince

What is happening is that fine sand is getting into the zoom gears and the grit causes it to malfunction. You can bang it and possibly destroy it, or you can purchase some pressured air and turn the camera on to open the lens and gently blow out the lens over and over until the grit is removed. This happened to me and it took a few times to unstick the grit, but with persistence and patience, my camera now works like new.
