my lens wont retract and continues to give "lens error 111,0,0,-1"

then proceeds to turn off. any suggestions?

I'm having a similar problem with my camera, fortunately my camera only goes off if I try to use the zoom. i've noticed a couple of scratches on the lens barrel which suggests dirt or grit in there. I'm presuming that your batteries aren't flat. I would suggest a service but with the cost of that you may be better investing in a new camera,. I myself am going to try some wd 40 on mine which will be kill or cure I would imagine. i'm going to give it a blast with some compressed air ( the type you use to blow out pc's) first though. I am not suggesting you try this, i'm just letting you know what I'm going to try. either it will work or I'll invest in a better camera, but will check the feed back on which ever camera I'm looking to buy first. Probably would have kept away from this camera if I knew about this web site....live and learn eh! Good luck
