What is the best setting to use if all you want to print is good quality 4x6 prints

I have been using the 6.1mp setting and when I try to print, I get the message that my resolution is too low (71x96)

The 6.1 pixels is the highest resolution you can get, so you wouldn't want to set it any lower. the problem is more likely to be your printer setting, i'd try adjusting some of those settings. Sorry that's the best I can offer. You can always take your memory card into a shop such as asda or boots and get them printed out there, I find that it is relatively cheap, when you compare ink prices.
Sorry that's the best I can think of.

I agree, vince. When you the cost of ink, photo paper, and wear and tear on the printer, the advantage of printing at home isn't all that great. and years from now, you may be reprinting those very same pictures. That's why I don't print long lasting prints at home anymore, I go to a photo kiosk.

Now, onto the issue. What printer are you using? We can help if we know what printer we're troubleshooting.

I myself will be buying a digital photoframe when they come down in price, that way I will be able to put the photos on a memory card and they will just cycle through.
Wishing you all A MERRY XMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
Vince

Great idea, Vince. I have one that I can update wirelessly and it's even though you need to use power to see the pictures, digital picture frames are a fabulous gadget to enjoy. I found a great breakdown for them here.

"My pictures are not the quality I expected. What can I do?"

1. Press the Menu button.
2. Select Picture Quality, and then press the OK button.
3. Select the Picture Quality setting you want to use, and then press the OK button.
4. Press the Menu button to exit the menu.

NOTE: The setting remains until you change it.

If you give us the printer make/model, we can perhaps also help you troubleshoot it from that end.
