Here's the scoop Kodak did a dumb thing
( - 7/17/06)Like everyone else I have seen these cameras quit. Mine quit with a "High Camera Temperature" error. It had been in the car but wasn't hot at the moment. And so I'm thinking based on the other reports, what goes bad after 3 years. I'm looking all over the outside of the camera for a "Settings" back up battery. So after exhausting every possibility I crack the case. And guess what I found soldered on the top board near the function switch? A very weak battery, unable to clear my error. I desoldered the battery (being somewhat technical) and the camera came to life after I reassembled it. Now I have to set the date on the camera when I remove the rechargable battery pack but it still does everything else. So now we know how much Kodak charges to change a button battery. And why would they design a product designed to quit in 3 years or so? This really smells.
