Hi,

Well, this definitely sounds like a mechanical failure. Since the camera is doubtlessly out of warranty by now as it was released almost four years ago, you'll probably end up paying an arm and a leg to get it fixed. You'd be better served by saving that money and investing it in a newer, better camera. There are lots of new models on the market that are well under $200, and nearly all of them are better than the DX4330.
