My DX4330 turns on however the shutter doesn't seem to open and close. Photo is black. Help.

The subject appears in the viewfinder, the camera snaps like the picture is being taken, however, there is nothing on the memory card except a black picture.

Aside from trying a reset, or updating your firmware, there's really not much you can do. The camera is 6 years old and is probably at the end of it's operational life. I'm guessing the CCD has failed. And the money you would spend to repair it would be better served going to a newer and more updated model.
