I want to get a canon powershot sd500 7 megapixel from ebay...only problem is, it says the camera is stuck in "freeze mode". Is this easy to correct?

Did they say if the camera is operable at all, or is it literally frozen, or just in Freeze Mode option?

I have heard that Freeze Mode sticking can be undone by just removing the battery/ resetting the camera... but then it comes back. Unless they give you really specific details of the problem, I'd steer clear. If they do give you details, try calling Canon- they can probably tell you how much it would be to repair and then you can decide if it's worth it.

they said that it is non operable. I contacted Canon and they gave me an estimate of $127.00 on fixing it......i'm not sure of the original price of the camera......so i'm not sure if it's a good deal or not. (I can get it from ebay for 30-40 dollars...comes with memory card, and a bunch of other extras..)

The Powershot SD500 retails for around $230, so I'd say yes, provided you can get it fixed (and that that's the only thing wrong with it, of course) this is a good deal.
