Why are my pictures blurry unless I use a tripod?

This camera worked really well at first, I've had it for about 4 years, but now the delay even in good light, is really long. And it absolutely has to be on a tripod or else I'm guaranteed to have blurry pictures.

Can you try resetting the camera? I know that sounds like a cop-out answer, but I'm wondering if there is a setting that was inadvertently changed that might be affecting shutter speed or something like that, resulting in longer delays. There should be an option in the menus to Restore factory defaults or something similar.

What mode do you typically shoot in?

Thank you for that advice. I will try that right away and see if it works. There are 6 of us using this camera so it is quite possible something inadvertently got changed.

Oh, I typically shoot in just the automatic (first choice on the wheel) mode.

Sorry, this is my first time doing this. I missed the step where I give you points! How do I go back to do that?
