Fantastic non-battery-hogging camera!

( - 3/24/06)

I've had this about a year and love it. I upgraded from its younger sister, the 6490. I bought an adapter ring so that I could use a protective filter, plus some other 52 mm filters. I'm having a ball with it. What I really like is the fact that I can take about 1000 photos (zooming, turning on and off, using the flash) on one battery. Maybe more—I don't know. I bought some cheap 1700 generic batteries on ebay and they have been great. Make sure to use the battery to the very end before recharging it (even though it's lithium) for the best battery life. The only thing I really don't like is the lack of manual focus, but I didn't down-rate it for that because I bought it knowing that it didn't have that capability.
