error message E45

The camera took good pictures while it worked. If I put it in my purse or jacket pocket, the camera would turn on too easily. I guess this is what happened last week. I had taken some pictures of my granddaughter and put the camera in my purse. When I got home, the camera was turned on, the lens was open. I turned the camera off and the lens did not retract. When I turned it back on I got the dreaded E45 message. I am sure glad I used a memory card.
Kodak offered to repair or replace my camera with a V series and dock for $150.00. I did not like the camera I was offered and instead purchased a Z650 reconditioned bundle. I have only had it for 2 days and wow. The pictures are so totally different. It's amazing. The LS443 was a birthday gift from my husband. He paid a lot of money for it, and we thought it would last a good long time. After reading all these reviews, I can see that the camera model is a piece of junk. I thought I was doing something wrong, because towards the end of my camera's life, I was getting a lot of damaged pictures.
I hope my new Kodak will perform better than my LS443.
