black screen

This camera worked fine and i liked it,,,that was until today when i tried to use it and the lcd screen was black. The camera turns on fine and appears to function normal except that it does not actually take pictures.
A quick Google search has revealed that this is a common problem with this model and Kodak is not interested to do anything to acknowledge or fix the problem. Thanks Kodak.
