Probably time to get a new camera. 6 years old is pretty far beyond the operational lifetime. e45 usually points to a power issue and I suspect that your battery is losing capacity. Over time, LiOn batteries will begin to lose capacity to the point where they can't carry enough juice to run the camera.

Made in 2003 and it's new? Wow. Well if you still have warranty, I'd send it in and have them look at it.
