"error 45" is a lens related problem of LS443.

If the lens is not stuck, you may try to download the firmware from the Kodak site and update the one in your camera.

As the lens is already stuck, there is no choice except to send the camera back to Kodak for servicing.

I have been reading a lot of posts about problems with the LS443 and Kodak's inabililty to fix it. I work for a consumer rights law firm and I'm interested in hearing people's experiences with this camera. Please email me your experience at abby1100ny@yahoo.com. Thanks!

If the lens is stuck, a good bang of the camera bottom against the flat of your hand tends to help some people. So does very gentle pulling on the lens itself. Be careful.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as a "bang," but a firm push with the palm of your hand while you turn it on or off can be helpful. You can always go in measured increments up to "bang," but if the bang is way too hard, you may end up worse than you started.
