Mary Ann,
The 8MP quality of this camera will be more than adequate for printing from your computer. The limitations you might find in the photos when printing from home will come from your printer. A basic desktop printer will not always print good quality pictures unless you purchase a photo quality printer with expensive ink. If you don't want to spend the money on a printer, you can get prints made for pennies at Walmart or Walgreens. You can even get them printed through online sites like Shutterfly.com.
As for adding lenses, the camera can use other lenses if you purchase a lens adapter, which will run you less than $30.
