Camera Under $300 ....Sports and Shutter speed/Leg

I am looking for suggestion on a Digital camera. I have 2 boys that play sports and want to capture them playing... I am looking for a camera that has very low shutter lag ??(The time you press the shoot button and time it take the picture). I am not worried about video or major zoom... I get lost over all the cameras and feature... I just want to take a picture of my son dribbling down the court and it come out clear... Not blur.. and after he passes..

Steven,

You might try the Kodak P880. There were some initial complaints about the shutter lag, but also statements that uploading the latest firmware to the camera adjusted the issues. The higher ISO setting of 1600 will also be useful to you taking indoor shots. The shutter will be able to click at a faster rate, giving less blurred shots with movement.
