disappointed

My Pentax was stolen in Delfi, had to buy new camera and got the V610 in Istanbul for $530? which turned out to be $800 australian. I also had trouble with the focus. Night time shots were very poor, inside museums never got a green hand, I guess I am still getting used to it, but I was disappointed. I think that a view finder is essential when outdoors in bright sunshine as I couldn't see a thing on the screen when photographing Greek and Turkish ruins. Is there a training programme to advise new users? I may be doing something wrong.
