is it the one i need?

i'm new to digitale. briefly, i love to picture the clouds and far things ( moutains and moon ). so i need all the details in high quality plus a powefull optical zoom (8x maybe), but still in less than 350$ and a small size. is the v610 the one i need? are 6 megapixels enough? ore should i wait for the small sized 10 mp with 10x optical?

Mario,

I've taken gorgeously clear photos with a 3.2MP camera for years, and printed them at 8x10" with no problem. This camera should be just fine for what you want to do.
