Why anyone would want to keep Easyshare software is beyond me. The software won't really work directly with anything but Kodak cameras. My recommendation is that if you really like those both, look into the Kodak Z1085IS. Kodak was in a slump for quite awhile, but with the Z1085IS, they've finally figured out the whole digital thing. Check out my DHQ review here.
Aside from that, I suggest Canon. As for software, try Picasa. It's a much better photo management tool. And it's free!
