Kodak EasyShare Z612 or Fujifilm FinePix S700 which one is the best for the money??

I've read a lot of reviews on both models and I like all the similar features they both offer, I like these two because of the Zoom and being able to set the mode to low-light for indoor shots also for landscape shots, and there in my price range.

but I'm not sure about the Kodak EasyShare software, from what everyone says, it sounds like using it is a nightmare and trying to removing it from your PC is even worse.

Has anyone heard of the Fuji FinePix software having this kind of problem?

Do I have to use the software that comes with the camera?

I don't think you have to use the software that comes with them, but your computer might not recognize the camera when you hook it up. Of the two cameras you mentioned there, I'd probably say the Fuji S700 would be the best for you. What I've read about it seems pretty good, and I think the software it comes with isn't too bad.

Josh is right. You don't. The EasyShare software is bloatware, plain and simple. I recommend you just install the drivers and dump the rest. Then head on over to Google for a free copy of PICASA software. It's an outstanding photomanagement tool. And did I mention it's free?!

To transfer pictures, you can simply plug your SD card into a card reader and drag and drop.
