Has anyone had a problem with the LCD screen on the z612?

Took my z612 on vacation and when I got it out to use it the LCD screen wouldn't light up. I called Kodak they assured me it was under warranty because I had only had it for 7 months, so I sent it ($20 something bucks) to be repaired and now they want to charge me $147.95 to fix it. says it has to be impact damage. BUT there was no impact to the camera, it was in the padded camera bag. just wondered if anyone else had this issue and how you resolved it.

I haven't heard about anything specific regarding the Z612's LCD, but you can look through our reviews here:

It looks like at least one other person had a bad experience with Kodak's customer service.

Hi, I noticed that you haven't marked any replies as the "best answer." Are you still looking for an answer? If so, I recommend you re-submit it on http://www.digitalcamera-hq.com so it will have a better chance of being noticed. These days it looks like most questions are being answered within a few days.
