What setting should I use for taking action pictures (Athletic events)

My pictures are not clear when taking athletic events of my grandchildren. I use the action icon setting.

Use the shutter priority mode, and choose a shutter speed that keeps things sharp (this depends on the type of action occurring, try different speeds and see what works). If the camera can't expose correctly with a short shutter speed, increase the ISO. You can also try aperture priority mode, set the aperture to the widest setting (f2.8) and it will choose the fastest possible shutter speed, again based on the ISO setting.
